Community String Orchestra of the Adirondacks is a non-profit organization - completely funded by personal donations, fundraisers, and grants. Our expenses include the purchase of sheet music, space rental, website fees, and simple administrative costs. Our biggest expenses, however, come from our commitment to paying conductors, section leaders, and guest artists' fair wages for their time and expertise. Each concert season has brought us closer to this goal beginning with thank you honorariums, and moving towards appropriate per-service wages. We provide stability to the Arts in the Adirondacks by providing opportunities for young people to have a large ensemble experience they do not have at school, connecting string players of all ages, and providing fair, paid work for the skilled musicians who live and work in our community. We believe that by starting with respectful, fair treatment of our local skilled musicians and guests, we can build an orchestra that has quality, enthusiasm, and a grass roots impact on the community.

Your donation will help us attract and hire professional conductors, directors and section leaders, as well as secure venues for rehearsals and performances. Each dollar goes to enriching both the lives of our musicians and those of our North Country neighbors! Thank You!
